CHELSEA COSMETIC PROCEDURES

Advanced Facial Fillers

Facial Fillers are used for reshaping areas of the face such as cheek hollows, mid-face “lifting”, lower lid contouring, nasolabial folds reduction and lip enhancement. They provide a non-surgical alternative for cosmetic improvement with little “down time” and are often combined with skin treatments and BOTOX®. Fillers vary in how long they last, their consistency and the locations where they can be injected. Because signs of aging are often due to fat loss in the face, facial fillers have become an essential tool for facial rejuvenation. Dr. Eviatar has extensive experience with the most advanced facial fillers and was chosen as a physician trainer by the companies that produce facial fillers. He consults for Dermik, Allergan, Medicis, Bioform, and Artes Medical. The fillers we offer include ArteFill®, Evolence®, Juvederm™, Perlane®, Radiesse™, Restylane®, and Sculptra™.

BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® for Hyperhidrosis

Chelsea Cosmetic is one of New York City's foremost cosmetic centers for Botox treatment. Dr. Eviatar has been chosen by the makers of BOTOX® to teach his advanced injecting techniques to other physicians.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is used for the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles and is a safe and effective way to treat wrinkles and re-shape areas of the face. It is used to eliminate or reduce worry and frown lines, "crows feet", laugh lines, and other dynamic wrinkles. It can also be used to "lift" the eyebrows and corners of the mouth and to relax muscles of the face for a more youthful appearance.

BOTOX® also helps to control excessive sweating, also known as Hyperhidrosis, by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don't receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. Medical insurance plans often will pay for BOTOX® treatment to control Hyperhydrosis.

Blepharoplasty/Eyelid Surgery

Reconstructive Eyelid Surgery, also known as Blepharoplasty, tightens the appearance of the skin around the eyes giving the individual a youthful appearance. This is the most common cosmetic procedure performed on the eyelids. During an upper lid blepharoplasty the sagging skin and any excess fatty deposits underneath the surface of the eyelid are removed through an incision made in the natural fold of the eyelid. Since the tiny incisions and sutures are placed within the fold, their appearance is reduced significantly. Oculoplastic surgeons often treat lower lid bags with a procedure called transconjunctival blepharoplasty. With this procedure the excess fat is lasered through the inner eyelid (which is not seen) avoiding the need for an incision in the external skin. Fat is often not excised but rather repositioned to create a natural and youthful, rather than hollow, appearance.

Eyebrow Lifts

Eyebrow lifts can be performed directly in the hairs of the brow if the brow is thick, indirectly through an eyelid incision when performing cosmetic eyelid surgery or at the hairline. Endoscopic eyebrow surgery is performed through a very small incision near the hairline and has the advantages of small incision sites, faster recovery and a more natural look. We often perform this procedure along with eyelid surgery to achieve a natural youthful appearance.

Dr. Eviatar is always on the cutting edge of the latest technology in cosmetic surgery and is one of three physicians nationwide participating in an FDA study to lift brows using a new adhesive (previously used in heart surgery) called “bio-glue.” This technique is less invasive allowing for faster & less complicated surgery.

Liquid Facelift
Soft Tissue Enhancement

Soft Tissue Enhancement and Liquid Facelifts involve Dr. Eviatar using refined techniques to inject advanced dermal fillers (sometimes in combination with BOTOX®)) to focus on lifting and contouring the face, while reducing unwanted wrinkles. In some patients the goal of a Liquid Face Lift is to lift the entire face. In others, the goal is to contour specific facial features. These procedures may be used to accomplish a number of objectives including treating bags under the eyes, lifting and opening up eye lids, diminishing jowls, restoring a natural shape to flattened cheeks or temple areas, lifting the corners of the mouth, as well as several other facial feature benefits. These procedures are customized to suit each individual’s needs and have the advantage of minimal “down-time”, excellent safety, and lower cost than many surgical procedures.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser Skin Resurfacing can be used as an alternative to chemical peels and microdermabrasion for correction of deeper wrinkles. The laser is used to reduce wrinkles, acne, scars and other minor skin imperfections, especially around the mouth and eyes. It can improve sun-damaged and acne scarred skin, problems that often cause concern in both men and women. In most cases, only one treatment is needed. The goal of laser resurfacing is to enhance facial appearance. Expectations by the patient must be realistic, and results should be anticipated as improvements rather than total corrections. Results of the surgery depend on many factors such as the size, shape, and location of the imperfection, heredity, and age skin condition. Laser resurfacing is often performed in conjunction with other facial surgical procedures.

Thermage®

This non-invasive procedure can tighten and renew your skin's collagen deep down, through all 3 skin layers: the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous (fat) layer. Thermage® uses a unique capacitive radio frequency (CRF) that safely heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate existing collagen and promote new collagen growth. The result is skin that looks and feels noticeably smoother and tighter with no surgery, no injections and no downtime, and it can last for years, depending on the condition of your skin and the aging process. With no bruising, swelling or sutures, you are able to return to your regular routine when the procedure is finished. While it is possible to see some improvement immediately, final results will be evident in about 6 months.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
Photofacials

IPL treatments utilize intense pulsed light to effectively treat rosacea, facial flushing, red chests and necks, brown spots, sun damage and irregular skin pigmentation on all skin types. Photo damaged skin with hyperpigmentation (brown spots); skin laxity, enlarged pores, wrinkling, and telangiectasia (veins) can be improved with IPL treatments. The short wave length laser light is used to rejuvenate skin on the face, neck, chest, arms or hands. Specific settings are selected for each treatment area for optimal results. Visible improvement is achieved with little discomfort and minimal risk.

Microdermabrasion

Many unsightly surface conditions can be improved with microdermabrasion. They include removal of age spots, blackheads, whiteheads and fine lines around the eyes, lips and neck. Dull and rough textured skin can be improved. In addition, the treatment can be used to reduce mild scarring and scaly skin lesions. The skin will be noticeably improved after the first treatment. Age spots, fine lines and wrinkles will be diminished, and the skin will take on a more radiant glow. Acne scars will become less noticeable and many report fresher, younger looking skin. Recovery time is rapid and normal activities can be resumed immediately. Microdermabrasion can also be used in conjunction with other procedures such as laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels.

Levulan Chemical Peels

This photodynamic therapy is performed using a combination of a topical sensitizer called Levulan, a special light and oxygen to selectively destroy abnormal cells. Levulan enhances the absorption of intense pulsed light making the patient over respond to the IPL treatment. This treatment has proven successful in killing pre-cancerous skin cells and boosting photo rejuvenation.

Laser Hair Removal

Our aesthetician uses pulsed light systems for permanent hair reduction. Pulsed light systems and lasers are very similar, but pulsed light systems use a much larger treatment window to spread light over a wider area of skin, allowing for faster coverage and quicker treatments. The handpieces used emit pulses of light which heat the hair follicles to loosen the hair and disable the cells responsible for new hair growth. Pulsed light hair reduction may require six to twelve treatments and can be used on all skin types.

Hand Rejuvenation

Because the hands are often unprotected from the sun and other weather elements, they are often one of the first areas to show visible signs of aging. The skin eventually thins, and loss of volume makes the hands appear skeletal and the veins more prominent. Radiesse and Sculptra can be injected into the hands to counteract these effects—the procedure is quick, painless, requires no downtime and can be combined with IPL or chemical peel treatments by our aesthetician to lessen aging brown spots. The result is a full rejuvenation of your hands!

Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems. Rhinoplasty can be performed to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstructive purposes-to correct birth defects or breathing problems. The Surgery usually takes an hour or two, though complicated procedures may take longer. During surgery the skin of the nose is separated from its supporting framework of bone and cartilage, which is then sculpted to the desired shape. The nature of the sculpting will depend on your problem. Finally, the skin is redraped over the new framework.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past decade, liposuction, which is also known as lipoplasty or suction lipectomy, has benefited from several new refinements. Today, a number of new techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, help to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods. With this procedure localized deposits of fat are removed to recontour one or more areas of the body. Through a tiny incision, a narrow tube or cannula is inserted and used to vacuum the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin. The cannula is pushed then pulled through the fat layer, breaking up the fat cells and suctioning them out.

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a tummy tuck, is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen. But bear in mind, it does produce a permanent scar, which, depending on the extent of the original problem and the surgery required to correct it, can extend from hip to hip. Your scars may actually appear to worsen during the first three to six months as they heal, but this is normal. Expect it to take nine months to a year before your scars flatten out and lighten in color. While they'll never disappear completely, abdominal scars will not show under most clothing, even under bathing suits. Complete abdominoplasty usually takes two to five hours, depending on the extent of work required. Partial abdominoplasty may take an hour or two.

Male Breast Reduction

Gynecomastia (women-like breasts) affects an estimated 40 to 60 percent of men. It may affect only one breast or both. For men who feel self-conscious about their appearance, breast-reduction surgery can help. The procedure removes fat and or glandular tissue from the breasts, and in extreme cases removes excess skin, resulting in a chest that is flatter, firmer, and better contoured. In extreme cases where large amounts of fat or glandular tissue have been removed, skin may not adjust well to the new smaller breast contour. In these cases, excess skin may have to be removed to allow the remaining skin to firmly re-adjust to the new breast contour. The temporary effects of breast reduction include loss of breast sensation or numbness, which may last up to a year.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. By inserting an implant behind each breast, surgeons are able to increase a woman's bust line by one or more bra cup sizes. The choice of implant filler, implant size, shape and other features will be determined based on your breast anatomy, body type and your desired increase in size. The method of inserting and positioning your implant will depend on your anatomy and your surgeon's recommendation. The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest, around the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple), or in the armpit. Every effort will be made to assure that the incision is placed so resulting scars will be as inconspicuous as possible.

Facelift

The best candidate for a facelift is a man or woman whose face and neck have begun to sag, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. A facelift can't stop the aging process. What it can do is set back the clock, improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift usually takes several hours or longer if combined with additional procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping. There usually is minimal discomfort after surgery although some numbness of the skin is quite normal for a few weeks or months. You willl have some scars from your facelift surgery, but they are usually hidden by your hair or in the natural creases of your face and ears. With time, they fade and should be scarcely visible.
